During the week of June 27th thru June 1st, the youth of Second Baptist Church La Porte participated in YOUTH MISSION WEEK. The week was filled with hard work, bible study, great food and recreational events. The youth ministry team planned and executed a schedule of daily activities that kept everyone busy doing God's work around the Church. From gardening to painting to cleaning, everyone worked together and accomplished an amazing amount of work.
Bible study was an important part of each day. Everyone participated in studying the word and discussing how to apply God's will and rules for living a Christian life to their own. Service to God and to his people was a key lesson for the week through the mission work that was carried out by the everyone involved.
Each day, after the work and study were done, the mission group set their sights on having fun! They played putt-putt golf, skated, played games and went to see the new Ninja Turtles movie. They ate pizza, pizza and more pizza. Each night the youth group was broken into 2-3 person groups and were taken to the homes of the mission week adult leaders to spend the night. Some even took showers!
Thanks to the adult leaders, Pamela Parker, Amanda Tennery, Doris Worsham, Mary and Larry Lewis, Tom Menefee, Sylvia, Jerry Johnson, Virginia Dyer and others who contributed their time, skills, presence and leadership to help the youth of our Church grow and experience selfless giving.
